Sassy Jane Genealogy (Follow Friday)

'Follow Friday' is a theme used by 'Geneabloggers'. This week my suggestion is Sassy Jane Genealogy.

  3. Thanks for the referral, Judy. I have a great uncle who emigrated from Scotland to South Africa to Australia to New Zealand, so I may need some Aussie genealogy advice someday soon.

  5. I don't know very much. He worked at a paper mill in Scotland (that's still there!) and then I think the intent was to mine in the Transvaal. That must not have worked because he ends up in New Zealand.

  6. I would not be surprised if you find that he was moving from country to country in order to be at the site of the latest mining boom. Many people listed in North Queensland hospital records were previously or subsequently in mining areas in New Zealand, New Guinea, Victoria, Western Australia, etc.
